New Nature explores the reciprocal relationship between art and nature by exploring our cultural understanding of what is natural. The ephemeral structures within the photographs are created using natural objects and rudimentary materials. While this interaction speaks to the intertwinement of the organic and the constructed, the assemblages trace movement and construct spatial relationships. The blank backdrop functions as a hybrid studio-laboratory for examining the possibilities that may exist. The concept of nature is both abstract and vast in its interpretation. This photographic series attempts to find a strange logic to create understanding.
